Wenatchee Valley Electric

Panel upgrades, EV chargers, and clean code work

Our review

Older valley homes are full of 100-amp panels never meant to run a heat pump and an EV charger. WVE has made that upgrade their specialty, and they pull permits and coordinate the utility disconnect without the homeowner chasing anyone.

Their work is neat behind the drywall as well as in front of it — labeled circuits, tidy runs, and inspection passes on the first try in nearly every job we heard about.

Not the cheapest bid you'll get. It is the one least likely to cost you twice.

Electrical work is mostly invisible, which is exactly why the standard matters. WVE labels every circuit at the panel, routes conduit in straight lines, and torques connections to spec — details a homeowner will never see but an inspector and the next electrician certainly will. They pull permits on jobs that require them rather than quietly skipping the step, and they schedule the utility disconnect and reconnect themselves so the homeowner is not left calling the PUD from a house with no power.

Their specialty has become the modern-load retrofit: a 1960s home with a 100-amp service that now needs to run a heat pump, an induction range, and a Level 2 car charger at the same time. That work usually means a service upgrade to 200 amps, a new meter base, and sometimes a mast replacement, and they quote all of it up front instead of discovering it halfway through. EV charger installs are a routine job here, including the load calculations utilities increasingly ask for. They also do remodel and addition wiring, recessed lighting retrofits, generator interlocks, and surge protection at the panel. Response on small jobs — a dead outlet, a failing breaker — is typically within a few days, and they are honest when something is a fifteen-minute fix rather than treating it as a minimum-charge visit. Bids come in written with materials specified, and they are rarely the lowest number you will receive. What you are paying for is a first-time inspection pass and work that will not need to be redone when you sell the house.
