U-pick orchards, farm store, and cider donuts

Our review

A working farm that opens its rows to visitors without turning into a theme park. Cherries in July, peaches in August, apples and pumpkins through fall — you pick into your own box and pay by weight.

The farm store is worth the stop on its own for jam, cider, and produce picked that morning. The cider donuts are exactly as good as the line suggests.

Weekends in October are busy. Mid-week visits feel like having the orchard to yourself.

The u-pick operation is run with more care than most. Rows are marked by variety and ripeness, staff tell you honestly which block is picking best that morning, and boxes and pickers are provided at the entrance rather than sold as an upsell. Cherries start in early July and run about three weeks depending on heat, peaches take over in August, and apples and pumpkins carry the farm from September through Halloween. Pricing is by weight at the scale on the way out, and it consistently comes in below grocery prices for fruit that was on the tree an hour earlier.

The farm store is the year-round anchor. Jams, local honey, hard and sweet cider, dried fruit, and whatever is in the field that week fill the shelves, alongside the cider donuts that generate their own line on fall weekends. There is a small café window for coffee and sandwiches, picnic tables with a view of the lake and the ridgeline behind it, and enough shade to make a summer visit bearable with kids. Fall weekends bring a corn maze, wagon rides, and live music, which is charming and also crowded; a Tuesday visit in the same season feels like a private orchard. Wear closed shoes, bring a hat and water, and check their social feed before driving out because picking conditions and hours shift with the weather. Dogs are allowed in the parking and store areas but not in the rows. It is one of the few places where a family outing and the week's grocery run can be the same trip.
